Mrs. Sievers is currently in her 16h year as the School Psychologist and Director of Special Education at Erin School. Mrs. Sievers received her Bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and Master's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Stout.
I've always loved children as they truly inspire me in so many ways. There is not a day that goes by in which my world is not filled with happiness because of the students at Erin School. My biggest goal with the students is to create and environment of kindness, respect, and compassion. I feel very blessed to work in this community, in which everyone (parents and staff) support the needs of our students.
Some of my duties include:
|
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other staff to find effective solutions to learning and behavior problems. (Student Needs Assessment Committee)
Help others understand child development and how it affects learning and behavior.
Evaluate eligibility for special services.
Assess academic skills, social-emotional functioning, the presence of Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, and aptitude for learning in an effort to provide appropriate recommendations to help foster a child's educational success
Provide psychological counseling to help resolve problems that interfere with school performance (on a very limited basis.) If a child needs on-going counseling, outside therapy is generally recommended
Provide training in social skills and friendship skills through group activities
Promote kindness, respect, responsibility, and honesty by visiting classrooms, having buddy days, and having all school activities that involve activities that support these traits
Coordinate the special education process and special education programs
