Dr. Kriewaldt

kriewaldtStarting July 1, 2007, I began my new position as the Erin School District as the District Administrator. I was very excited about becoming part of the Erin School District family. During the interview process, I was able to visit with the Erin School Board on several occasions. After talking with the board and most board member privately, both the board and I feel we can work together to provide the students of the Erin School District with top notch educational instruction and the resource to insure the students are successful during their time spent in the Erin School District.

I worked eleventh years at the Kewaskum School District as the Director of Elementary Education and Principal of Kewaskum Elementary School (KES). As the Director of Elementary School, I over saw equity at three elementary schools from building budgets to staffing along with the development of student remedial, enrichment, and gifted & talented classes. I also assisted in the development of staff development with the Director of Curriculum. KES is a 4-K through 5th grade school with 430 students, 28 professional staff, and 16 support staff which I was principal and tended to the day-to-day operations. During this time I completed my Doctorial degree at Cardinal Stritch University in ethical leadership.

Prior to working at the Kewaskum School District, I was employed by the Plymouth School District for six years where I taught third through fifth grade. During this time, I completed my Masters degree at Cardinal Stritch University in school administration.

At the age of 20, I joined the U.S. Army and became a military police officer for a three year tour. Upon completing my training, I married my childhood sweetheart and served one year in Seoul, Korea and the rest of my tour in Fort Ord, CA. While my intentions were to become a farmer, my wife would have not part of that dream. So when finished with my military tour, we returned to Wisconsin and I attended college at UWWC and UW-Milwaukee. I completed my Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education.

I was born in Tigerton, WI. My great-grandfather settled in that area and married his mail order bride and had thirteen children. So, my family also has deep roots in that part of Wisconsin. My parents did not like the area and moved to Cudahy with my father. After a short stay, we moved to Mequon, West Bend, Kewaskum, and then Grafton during my K-12 educational years.

Julie and I returned to the Kewaskum area nine years ago and built our current home to raise our family. My family lives in the Town of Wayne, which is Northwest Township in Washington County. My wife is the Town of Wayne Clerk, works at our church as the secretary and will occasionally substitute for the Kewaskum School District. All of our children attend schools in the Kewaskum School District. Our children are the fifth generation, on my wife's side, to live in Kewaskum.
